How we handle your information.
We collect the minimum amount of information needed to run this website and to reply to people who write to us. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers on this site, and you have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
Who we are
Digital Assets Africa Ltd ("DAAL", "we", "us") is a private limited technology company incorporated in the Republic of Kenya under Company No. PVT-RXU77ZV, headquartered at Pramukh Tower, Westlands Road, Nairobi. This policy describes how we handle personal information in connection with the website at daal.africa (the "site").
This policy covers the daal.africa corporate site only. Each product in our portfolio — VisaNationals, OurRoots, Endesha, Hyloti, The Midnight Alchemist, and Amen Travel — operates its own privacy policy appropriate to the data it handles. If you are a user of one of those products, please refer to that product's policy as well.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you send us a message through the contact form, we collect the name, email address, reason for writing, and message body you submit. We use this only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider and any privacy-respecting analytics we may run collect standard request information — IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, timestamp, and pages visited. We use this only to understand aggregate traffic, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse. We do not run behavioural advertising trackers on this site.
How we use it
We use personal information for a narrow set of purposes:
- To respond to your message when you contact us
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site
- To protect the site against abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- To comply with applicable law
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We may share limited information with carefully selected service providers who help us run the site — for example, form submission providers, hosting providers, and transactional email services. These providers are bound to use the information only to deliver services to us.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or valid regulatory request, and where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of DAAL, our users, or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep messages sent through the contact form for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and, where relevant, maintain a reasonable business record. We aim to delete contact messages older than 24 months unless we are required to retain them for legal, tax, or regulatory reasons. Server logs are kept for a shorter period and rotate out on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law — including the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation — you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to or restrict our processing in certain circumstances
- Withdraw any consent you have previously given
- Complain to a data protection authority — in Kenya, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner

Security & international transfers
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, and alteration. No internet transmission or electronic storage method is fully secure, but we treat your information with care proportionate to its sensitivity.
Because DAAL operates across borders and some of our service providers are based outside Kenya, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure that your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, highlight the change on the site. Continued use of daal.africa after a change means you accept the updated policy.
