Digital Assets Africa Ltd — known as DAAL, and online as DAAL.Africa — is a technology holding company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. It creates, develops, and stewards foundational digital products for Africa and the wider Global South. It was incorporated in 2019 under Kenyan company number PVT-RXU77ZV, and it is led by founder Dennis Obel.
The short version: DAAL is the parent company. Underneath it sits a small, deliberate portfolio of six ventures — each built to remove a single, measurable friction borne by households and institutions in the developing world.
First, what Digital Assets Africa is not
Because the words "digital assets" are often used to mean cryptocurrency, it is worth being exact. DAAL is not a cryptocurrency exchange, a token, a digital-currency platform, or a crypto-custody business. We do not issue, trade, or hold crypto assets. When we say "digital assets," we mean something older and more literal: durable digital enterprises — software products with real users and real revenue — treated as long-term assets to be owned and compounded, not flipped.

The thesis: markets the giants skipped
The world's largest technology platforms are built for markets that already work — card checkouts, English-first interfaces, app stores as the default channel. But most of the people who move across borders and run businesses across Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America do not live in those markets. They live in economies where the dominant payment rail is mobile money, the dominant channel is WhatsApp or USSD, and the dominant language is anything but English.
We believe the digital future of the Global South must be owned by its own people — not extracted by foreign capital.
That conviction is the reason DAAL exists as a holding company rather than a single app. Each friction deserves its own product, its own team, and its own long-term stake in the outcome.
The six ventures
DAAL operates its portfolio in partnership with its sister entity, 3Men Pty Ltd (Sydney, Australia). Together they build and run:
- VisaNationals — a free, AI-powered UK visa readiness assessment for applicants from Nigeria, Pakistan, Ghana, Kenya and Bangladesh.
- OurRoots — a trauma-informed heritage companion for the African diaspora returning home.
- Endesha — digital ticketing for East African bus operators over WhatsApp, Telegram, USSD and the web.
- Hyloti — free border and corridor intelligence for East African travel.
- The Midnight Alchemist — a voice-native identity reconstruction system built on alchemical philosophy and modern neuroscience.
- Amen Travel — a B2B boutique-hotel content agency reaching more than 1.8 million monthly viewers.
