Know before you go

Hyloti is a travel app for East Africa. It starts on one road, Nairobi to Mombasa, with reports that each carry a date and a named source.

Most of us ask around before a long journey. A cousin who travelled last week. A group chat. A driver we trust. The answers help, and then they scroll away. Nobody can say when they were written or where they came from.

The road makes the question urgent. On 3 October 2026, seventeen people died in a multi-vehicle crash on the Nairobi–Mombasa highway near Salama, as reported by Capital FM and Al Jazeera. Two days later, Kenya's road safety authority said 199 of the 270-plus crash black spots it has identified lie on the Northern Corridor, which runs from Mombasa through Nairobi to the Uganda border, as reported by Citizen Digital.

Hyloti would rather say what it does not know than invent a number.

Why we are building it

Digital Assets Africa builds digital infrastructure for Africa and the Global South. Hyloti is one of its six ventures, built for people who cross East Africa by road. It helps you decide and prepare. It does not sell tickets, and it does not give operators a safety score.
